~My 5 Star Review of Down to You~

Ok, so here we have a love triangle between one girl Olivia, and two guys, twins no less, Cash and Nash Davenport, who by the way are extremely hot and seem to be equally attracted to Olivia. Cash is your typical bad boy, heart-breaker type. He owns a bar, drives a motorcycle, yeah you get it. Then we have Nash, who is the good guy, caring and sweet, trying to become a successful lawyer. Besides those differences, Nash has a girlfriend, Marissa, who is none other than Olivia's cousin. Marissa is what you would call a rich b!tch and Olivia is the complete opposite. She is a senior in college and working her way through school. She is attracted to both guys just as much as they are to her. So which one will she choose or which one will choose her. She has been through heartbreak before with the bad boy type but she can't help herself with what she is feeling for Cash and then she is desperately trying to convince herself that Nash is what would be best for her but he is taken. My advice would be for you to read it! I don't think you will be disappointed:0)
I really enjoyed this story and I will be honest and say that I was only going to give it 4 stars until Ms. Leighton completely changed my mind about 75% of the way through, therefore it gets a five star from me. It did take a while to get to all the hot stuff but once it did, let's just say it was hot and with what was taking place, I found myself in a reading frenzy towards the end. Some of my favorite quotes are:
I realize he doesn't think I'll do it. No one probably does. And that's exactly why I will.(Olivia)
I fall ass over teacup into the parking lot. In my head, I envision myself as a comical cartwheel of flailing arms and legs.(Olivia)
I'm so proud to be related to the devil's mistress.(Olivia talking about Marissa)
"I stole it from a homeless person, "I say straight-faced. "She was lying right beside the stripper that gave you yours."(Olivia to some bitch talking about her dress) I loved it!

~MY REVIEW~Seduced in The Dark by C J Roberts

Seduced in the Dark by C.J. Roberts

WOW! What a phenomenal read! I don't think I have ever read a book that left me speechless like this one has. Ms. Roberts did an outstanding job writing these two books! They involved some very dark people and subjects like human trafficking and sex slaves. I just cannot put into words how much I loved this book. Parts of the story were very difficult to read because I always think about the characters and what they are feeling as well as what they go through. This story picked up where the first one ended and we learn more about Caleb's history in this book. We also learn that Olivia has been through hell and back but she is so strong and courageous throughout everything she is put through. Such a sad story, what happened to the this man when he was just a boy. I don't want to give anything away but the twists and turns were amazing and the ending....sigh........

I highly recommend this book but you must read the first one Captive in the Dark or you will be lost. These cannot be read as stand alone books! I will warn you they are dark and cover some serious issues that quite frankly made me stop and say "oh my God" because this $hit really happens. A few words for you Ms. Roberts. You are an extremely talented writer, I cannot believe you were turned down but holy he!! I bet there are people out there now that are saying to themselves damn we f***ed up HA suckers your loss because CJ is the bomb!!!

Some quotes that I personally liked from this story are: "I know what I want, Reed, and if you can't give it to me...you're shit out of luck. After what I've been though, I don't care what you think you can do to me."
"I don't want revenge, Caleb. I don't want to end up like you, letting some f***ing vendetta run my life. I just want my freedom. I want to be free, Caleb. Not someone's whore...not even yours."
I chose the path of least resistance and greatest pleasure.
and last but not least my dearest Caleb "I'm sorry," he whispered.

~MY REVIEW OF CRASH BY NICOLE WILLIAMS~

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a wonderful, young adult book that was well written with strong characters. Lucy is a 17 year old girl, who is a dancer and has a dream of going to Julliard. Right before she enters her senior year at Southpointe High, which is a typical, small town, high school filled with lots of rumors, she meets the one and only Jude Ryder. He just screams all over, flat out, sexy bad boy to Lucy and immediately they have a strong attraction to each other. Jude doesn't do the girlfriend thing but all too soon he realizes that he can't stand to be apart from Lucy and wants to protect her. Jude warns Lucy that she should basically steer clear of him at all costs but soon Lucy also learns that the heart wants what the heart wants. These two will have to get through many hurdles during their last year of high school as well as a startling revelation that will hurt them both but also make them realize something else. I enjoyed this story because the characters were very real and I could relate to their story in some way. Lucy is a strong and very smart young woman, who has been through a lot and her parents aren't exactly all there due to the hand that life has dealt their family. Jude is your typical bad boy with a rap sheet, pages long and lives in a boy's home. He is a tortured young man who has been through hell and back but what these two find together is absolutely wonderful and heartwarming considering all the odds that were against them once the truth was revealed. Great young adult book with lots of heated kissing. I highly recommend this book and there is also a sequel called Clash.

My Enjoyable Workday= NOT

Most of my work days are very enjoyable, however these last two days I have had the pleasure of listening to an Asplundi (sp?) truck outside my window grinding trees all day, with the exception of a lunch break.  I am typically not a complainer but trust me when I say, "this will eventually annoy you" and if it doesn't then I envy you.

With that said it is almost Friday thank the good lord above for that because after this week I am ready for the weekend which means I will be able to spend time with my daughter and read and hopefully sleep.  We won't be going anywhere but that is okay:)

~MONDAYS SUCK~

Can we have a do over of today?  I think it was last Monday that I ripped my daughter's shorts, well this Monday was a little worse but I am sure many will say it can always be worse than that.  So what happened you say?  Well my beloved, 12 year old, almost 13 but hey who is counting, Ford Exploda decided that the battery just wasn't doing it for her anymore (yes, I call my truck a she) so I had to replace my car battery.  Now granted it could have been much worse but you know for it to happen on a Monday and there is always hope that it will last just a little longer.  Yeah, well, ummm, NO!  It had to be replaced today or I wouldn't be going anywhere.  I can only hope that the rest of this week and my next Monday will be a lot better than my past two.

On a brighter note this Monday is almost OVAH!

I hope your day was better and brighter and this too shall pass..............

My review of the funniest book I have read all year!

Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Is it possible to laugh your way through an entire book? My answer is yes! Seduction and Snacks was hilarious to say the least. I laughed so hard I cried! The characters, Claire, Carter, Jim, Liz, Drew, Jenny and last but not least a four year old named Gavin who was my favorite. That boy had a potty mouth like you wouldn't believe. These are just a few of the quotes from the book that made me laugh: "Your tits are like Bounty. The quicker dick picker upper." "Have you ever been convicted of a sex crime against another human, animal or plant?" and lastly but certainly not least: "Don't worry, Claire, I'm pretty good with my hands. I have a feeling I'd be excellent at P.O.R.N. It's all about how you angle your fingers and the stroke you use...when throwing the ball. Sometimes you have to do it slow and gentle, and other times you have to do it hard and fast." Sweet baby innuendos, Batman. "What time do you get off?" In about ten seconds. Aside from the humor their is a sweet and very hot romance story here between Claire and Carter. So don't wait a minute longer especially if you need a good laugh. Go buy the book! I highly recommend it! And, when you are done with this one don't forget to get the sequel Futures and Frostings:0)

~HARD TO CHOOSE~

Good, late, Sunday morning to you all.  I finally got some sleep myself after a week of not so great sleep.  I don't know about you as a reader but for me it is always hard to choose the next book/ebook to read.  I have so many wonderful books on my shelf and on my kindle.  There are so many talented authors out there, which is wonderful, but damn it makes my decision so hard lol.

I just finished Seduction and Snack and it was hilarious.  So now I ask myself the same question I always do and that is what do I want to read next?  The choices are limitless so I try to ask myself some general questions.  Do I choose something funny, serious, mysterious or romantic.  I generally read romance but on occasion I have been known to read true crime, self help and maybe a biography here and there.

How about you?  What do you do?  Just pick one at random or follow a series in order?  I would love to hear your thoughts.

FUNDAY MONDAY~NOT

So to start off my Monday.  I bought dd (dear daughter) a pair of shorts from our local DAV because I don't mind being thrifty.  Well she put them on this morning and they have the adjustable waist, which is great if it works!  So I begin to adjust them for her, pull one side adjust no problem, pull other side and it won't budge hmmmm, so mom gets aggravated, yanks to hard and (insert the sound of elastic ripping here) $hit guess we won't be wearing these today.  Lesson learned today=buying used has it's ups and downs lol.  Hopefully the rest of the week will be better
