~My Five Star Review of Wilde Nights in Paradise by Tonya Burrows~07/13/14

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

He’ll guard her body all night long.

Former Marine Jude Wilde’s motto has always been “burn bridges and never look back,” so nobody is more surprised when Wilde Security is hired to protect assistant district attorney Libby Pruitt, the woman he loved and left. Although she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with Jude, they’re forced to fake a relationship for her safety. He can’t ignore the heat still simmering between them, and when her stalker’s threats escalate to attempted murder, he’s left with no choice but to whisk her away to a friend’s safe house in Key West, FL.

Cooped up in paradise together, Jude begins to chip away at Libby’s resolve to hate him. But even as she gives in to his proximity and her body’s demands for his, she refuses to fall for his charms again. Maybe a torrid affair in the sun is exactly what she needs to get him out of her system. But when her stalker tracks them down, can they escape the steamy Key West night without anyone getting hurt?

~My Review~

Perfect summer read with a little bit of everything.  Romance, suspense, humor, great characters and an HEA!
Jude Wilde, former marine, turned security officer, is working with his four brothers at Wilde Security.  He is hired to protect Libby, a past love he was once engaged to but their relationship ended rather unpleasantly eight years ago.  After that heartache they both parted ways.  Poor Jude, he couldn't seem to catch a break and of course I wanted to know why the relationship ended and what was going on with Libby?
"They all knew Jude was the family fuck up, and he'd made his peace with that."

I was hooked from the very beginning with the banter between brothers, the secrets Jude carried and the engagement ring he carried in his pocket for the woman who once wore it.

Since things didn't end so well with he and Libby they both moved on with their lives only to be brought back together and put into a situation where they have to pretend they are in a relationship and Jude has to protect her.

Needless to say the chemistry is still there and it was only a matter of time before they acted on it.

Libby wasn't exactly thrilled with Jude protecting her at all but it seemed to be what her father wanted and thought was best.  He played a huge role in her life and there were some things I was suspicious about.

"But I can't stand him.  He's selfish, hedonistic, reckless, and...I don't want to be near him."  Jude grinned.  "You're full of compliments."

Yep, I knew I would enjoy these two, their banter, their deep love for one another that they both didn't want to admit was still there and the steam factor was awesome.  Now with her life having been threatened they decide it is best for Libby to leave her home and job for a while as well as Jude, so the two of them head to Key West to stay in a beautifully hidden house that belongs to one of Jude's friends.

It is here where they have to be around each other and Libby decides to give him one night and one night only.  Boy what a smokin hot night it is.  Problem is, will they be able to stop and continue to be in each other's presence without acting on any impulses either one of them have?  After all there are some unresolved feelings and questions.

"I want you, and I know I shouldn't.  I can't help myself."

Yeah, I don't think I could have kept myself away from Jude either.  Tall, sexy, tattooed and blue eyed, former Marine, yeah ummm no way in  hell!

So while they continue their stay things get interesting, secrets are partially revealed, feelings explored, but danger still lurks and Libby finally realizes how much danger she is in, actually becomes frightened, but realizes that Jude will protect her no matter what and so much more.

"I will keep you safe,"  he whispered.

Tonya wrote an awesome book!

Highly recommend this great summer read!!  Go check it out!
