~Synopsis~
It takes a while to know who you really are. And when you lose your way, sometimes it’s hard to find it again.
Charlie Hudson was on the verge of figuring that out when her dad—the only parent and friend she ever had—died suddenly. She was barely 18, and she was alone. So she went for easy—playing life safe, running away from a home that harbored nothing but bad memories and challenges and loving a man who would take her away from it all forever.
It’s funny how chance takes over when you need it most. And that’s exactly what brought Cody Carmichael into her life. A former motocross super star, Cody was now happy to be living the blue collar life, spending his days finishing up school and his nights under the hood of some classic car, just trying to keep everything his father taught him alive. Cody and Charlie were living parallel lives, until they finally collided. And the moment he smiled at her, Charlie knew he was the one who would change everything. But was she willing to take the risk?
Cody saw through it all. He saw her—all of her. But would letting him in be too much to take? And if Charlie let herself love him—really love him—could he love her back?

Four, Can I Get A Cody Carmichael Please, Stars?
Oh where do I to start. Well, I'll start with Charlotte (Charlie). I could relate to her in some ways so it was easy to understand her decision making even if it drove me nuts from time to time. At the very young age of 7 she was abandoned by her mother, who was an addict, and from that point on was raised by her clueless father, who didn't even know about Charlie, until tragedy struck. It wasn't until she was in high school, though, that a true relationship developed between her and her father, Mac. They became very close and he was basically her only friend.
Unfortunately there is no manual written about life and how it's supposed to go. Things change, people change and sadly we all experience tragedies. Well Charlie has experienced a few but manages to play her life safe going to college to become an architect and becoming involved with a wonderful man, Trevor, whom she plans to marry and live with the rest of her life. Everything is all laid out nice and safe until......
Now we are introduced to Cody Carmichael. He has the looks of a bad boy, with tattoos & piercings on the outside, but what we learn and see on the inside will make your heart soar. Cody has experienced tragedy of his own so it isn't uncommon for he and Charlie to have some things in common. He was such a sweetheart and I instantly fell in love with him.
You will also get to meet Cody's friends, Jessie and Gabe. I loved Jessie she was an awesome character and became Charlie's friend as well. Lots of things take place in this great story and that is why I read it in 3 days (that's fast for me).
This book had some very emotional moments and I got teary eyed a few times. Great characters and a great story overall. Kept my interest and the ending was good. I can tell you that this was a love triangle but before you judge, I think perhaps you may understand why Charlie is the way she is and why she made the choices she did. Lot's of people fear the unknown and prefer to keep their lives comfortable and without any major changes. This poor girl truly didn't even know who she was.
There were times Trevor didn't really know who she was either. To see all the transformations through the story wasn't easy but so worth it.
So what happens to all of these great characters and how will it all come to an end? What road will each of them take and with whom? Experience their tragedies along the way as well as Charlie and how she truly finds herself. Take a chance and read this great story. You won't be sorry :)
This was my first read by Ginger Scott and I really enjoyed it! Great story, emotional, raw and great characters!
