~FUN FRIDAY GIVEAWAY~

Comment below with your broken email for a chance to win an e-book.

What do you think of shopping on Thanksgiving Day?  I think it is absurd!!  When did Thanksgiving become a day of shopping?

  1. What happened to just relaxing with family and enjoying that special day of great food, football or a movie together?
Last year my daughter and niece took to the stores but waited till Thursday evening - I was curled up with my nice warm comforter and a good book! My Grands were all occupied with friends! Everyone else had gone home. They had a really fun time and got some "great bargains"!
Feel bad for people who are stuck working but I know people who volunteer for those days cause the money is good and they enjoy the hustle and excitement of the "Happy" shoppers
( I've never been a real fan of being pushed out of the way and being run over by a shopping cart!). So I guess - to each his own - but just not for me!!!!
Have a great weekend!!!! XO Sue

  2. I think it is ridiculous.I understand the need for some businesses to be open on Thanksgiving but not ones dedicated to the principle that you-the consumer- need to come in and buy more *stuff*. People, give your employees that day with their friends and family to be thankful for what they already have.

  4. I refuse to shop on Thanksgiving Day. My hubby works retail, and he has to work on Thanksgiving Day :( I hate it.

  7. Thanksgiving is a time for family. I won't shop on that day. And, Black Friday? I did that a few times when I was younger (not standing in line at midnight) and now I restrict my shopping to online. Happy Thanksgiving!

  8. I suppose since the economy has been bad for some years now the retailers are looking for any way to make money. There are many professions that need workers on this day for health and safety but retail is all about profit and not a public service. I myself will not shop on Thanksgiving. I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving! :)

  9. We won't be shopping on Thanksgiving. I have family visiting that haven't been up this way in seven years. They are more important than any deal we could find. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! jeepforme1923(at)yahoo(dot)com

  10. I do not go shopping on Thanksgiving or Black Friday. I rather be at home with my family. I cook all day and I am tired and I just want to curl up on the couch with my daughters. Princessmegs25(at) MSN (dot) com

  12. I have a hard time with the idea of shopping on Thanksgiving. I'll just be sitting down to dinner when people have to return to work.

  13. I cook for about 12 people every year and can barely stand by the end of the day. I might buy something online if the right deal came up but not go to a store. I would also feel bad that I'm supporting the store's employee's that have to work that day and can't be with family. I prefer to spend the day with my family. Thanks! saltsnmore at yahoo dot com

  14. I have never and will never shop on Thanksgiving day. It's a day for cooking, hanging with family, being thankful for what you have and football. There is no room for shopping until Friday. :)
